The first time I went to "The Pie Queen," I managed to get lost. If you know me though, I'm not the greatest navigator. I ended up down a ally behind the square that appeared a little shifty, but then I saw the sign....oh that sweet sign beckoning me to the what I discovered to be the most delightful and decadent pies I have come across (and I know my pies lol).
Upon entering the building, the first thing that stood out was how it had a unique charm to it that you don't see very often. When you get to the counter/display case you can see all the fruits of their labor and oh my it is magnificent. On the wall there are two rows of clip boards. One row is for sweet pie flavors available that day and the second row is for the savory pies available.
Today I chose the tamale pie and the peanut butter fudge pie. I am a sucker for peanut butter and chocolate. Brie also has a couple of large jars on the counter and keeps a couple of different varieties of homemade cookies everyday. Today's options were chocolate no bake cookies and what appeared to be a type of oatmeal sand which cookie with a buttercream frosting inbetween the cookies. Also pictured are her AMAZING peanut butter cookie sandwhiches with chocolate ganache!!!
The décor is adorable and it has such a cozy and vintage feel to it...factor in the amazing food and you will understand why "The Pie Queen" was recently featured in USA Today Travel in an article about Southern food with creative spins featuring her savory Pimento Cheese Pie!
